REFLEXIÓN SOBRE UN CASA

Se afirmó sobre la parcela

más sólida del terreno,

plantando allí sus pies

de piedra, acero y cemento.

Desde entonces se irguió despacio,

con ladrillos y argamasa

cabalmente tejidos,

hasta alcanzar la altura

que su función prescribe.

Se cubrió de tejas

contra el sol y la lluvia,

y amplió su propio espacio

con puertas y ventanas.

Puedes verla maciza,

inamovible,

fuerte.

Así debiera obrarse

en la hechura de un hombre:

trabajar sobre firme,

de abajo para arriba;

dejaríamos de ser

tolderías temblorosas.

REFLECTION ON A HOUSE



There one affirmed on the most solid

parcel of the land,

planting its stone feet,

steel and cement.

Since then one straightened up slowly,

with bricks and it

that its function prescribes.

against the sun and rain,

and extended its own space

with doors and windows.

You can see makes solid it,

unremovable,

strong.

Thus it had to be built

in the form of a man:

to work on firm,

of down for above;

we would stop being

trembling tents.
